When will I see yoga results (NOT weight loss)?
Ive started doing yoga (about 20 minuets a day) and I am wondering when results will start to show. I know it wont be soon as Ive just started. I am not interested in loosing weight, I want to tone up and become more flexible. Im nearly 15 if that makes any difference and I eat a healthy diet.
Keep it up and as the other poster said, lose yourself in it and just enjoy it. Know that even if you don't feel like you are making progress, you are gaining benefit from the poses. Do challenge yourself, but don't push too hard. Listen to your body, dont' do anything that causes pain (although a little challenge is good, it shouldn't actually HURT) and over time you will begin to notice you are going a little deeper into the positions. Just know that as you do the yoga, you are gaining a benefit just from sitting there, breathing (DON'T forget to breathe!), and holding the positions.
As you become more comfortable doing the yoga, try to work in some 1 hour sessions once or twice a week.

bikram yoga for weight loss?
I have started hot yoga, and its great. Can you do this for weight loss without doing other exercise alongside it.
Yoga in any of its forms isn't strenuous enough to burn many calories. Everyone I know who does yoga does it as an accessory to their regular workouts, not as the main thing.
