If you are a runner or triathlon participant, please answer this question?
I am currently toward the tail end of a weight loss journey. I have lost 70 pounds since last November, I went from 200 down to 130. I am a 5'6'' female, 24 years old. Now that I lost the weight, I realize I am thin...but not in any athletic form haha! I would like to train myself to run. I have found this "couch to 5K" program and I want to see if other runners think this would be a good starting place. Here is the site:

Also....what type of warm-ups should I do...stretching wise? I don't want to hurt myself out there! My goal is to complete a triathlon....after a year and a half of training. It's something I never would have thought I could do in life, and now that I am entering a new phase....I am totally ready! I can bike forever and swimming will need some work...but running is my major obstacle at this point.
Wow, that is so great! You should be so proud of yourself for losing that kind of weight! That is really a major accomplishment.
The plan looks good. You seem like you are pretty motivated, so you might progress faster than the plan. But, be careful about upping your milage too quickly--work into it slowly and steadily so your body can adapt. The plan seems good for that.
Don't stretch before you exercise. You want your muscles and joints to be warmed up before hand. I stretch after each workout.
Two years ago I realized I was in the worst shape of my life, working all the time. Decided to get fit -- and get into triathlon. Just finished my second season of racing, and qualified for the age group national championships!
My only slow down was an IT band injury--I tried to ramp up my milage quickly to do my first marathon. I took some advil before the race, felt great while I was running, then could barely walk the next day. Took about 3 months to recover. So, work into it slowly and you'll be fine.
