What type of career can I have with horses that pays well?
I want to persue some sort of career but I'm not sure what to do. I dont want to be a vet. I don't really want to be a horse trainer or a farrier. And I definitley dont want to teach kids lessons. I need to be paid well because I have a large morgage every month and anything less then $15.00/hour is a struggle for me. I've been working at aa weight loss surgery clinic for 1 1/2 years. I work in the "call center" (i'm the only one there lol), but I market lap bands, patient support, enter data and its sooo boring! I have worked with horses for 14 years. I am an experienced rider. I know nows not the time to be changing jobs but I'm just thinking about my future at this point. I'm married, 22, and I just want to wake up every morning and be happy to step out the door, not drag my feet. Any suggestions? Tell me your stories

Its not like you can wake up and start a horse related career. It takes years to get the reputation in the horse business. If its being a Vet, a Farrier, Dentistry, trainer, instructor, Show Judge. I have been in the business for years, and I make pretty good money, but I also have other sources of income. I also own a farm that has been a family horse farm. But again the years of experience is why people come here for breeding, for riding lessons, and call me to judge Shows. The guys that work here on the farm make about $10 per hour. So I doubt you could find anything that is going to pay great, but if your looking to have a career and be happy to go to work, and love what you do for a living, go for it. But you better hope you have other income coming in for those slow months. Good luck.
