Walk, walk, walk. Many of the pilates exercises work well. Go to the library and take out a good book on the subject. Also, watch what you eat.
Please remember that some people are born with thighs that just won't slim down. I hope that's not the case with you, but if it is learn to live with your basic body figure or you will become miserable.

Lifestyle changes are required in order for you to not only loose the weight, but also to keep it off. A three or a six week diet may help in the beginning, yet if you return to the eating habits that created the weight gain in the first place you will not be any further ahead.
We must also understand there are so many toxins added to our foods (even vegetables) that food choices must be at the top of our list. Ask yourself why does a tomato last in your fridge for an entire month? You bring it home and notice it is fresh, plump, red and gorgeous. You place it into the fridge, only for it to get buried beneath salad, celery, onions and cucumbers. A month later you discover the red treasure exactly where you left it looking as beautiful as you the day you brought it home.
Food Choices and Combinations
Obviously this is a wide ranging topic and far too much to delve into here. I’d suggest seeing a Registered Nutritionist for some good solid advice. They will recommend alternatives and help you to decipher confusing food labels.
Digestive Enzymes do the body good
An Iridologist based in London, Ontario claims the reason lower abdominals begin to sag around mid life has nothing to do with the amount of crunches we perform. She explains if you think of your intestinal tract like your kitchen sink. If we look at a ‘bulging’ or bloated lower abdominal region it simply means you plumbing is backed up. Unfortunately fixing our pipes is not as easy as calling a plumber; it takes one year for each decade lived to bring health back to the intestines. She advises people to take a digestive enzyme found at any health food store to help the body digest foods it may have troubles with. Alternatively eating pineapple which contains the enzyme bromaline and kiwi both hold similar properties in aiding digestion.
Ayurveda claims all disease comes from the digestive tract; the mouth to the anus. It is undigested food mass (Ama) which becomes a toxin to the physical body. For healing to occur we must heal our lower selves. Ayurveda suggests using turmeric or cayenne pepper found in your herb cupboard; both aid in digestion and tumeric reduces inflammation. However, it can be an aggressive choice causing the release of Kapha (loosely defined as phlegm).
The question we need to ask then is what kind of a plumber we need to restore health to the intestines?
A change in diet for most will help. Here are some things to eliminate or remove from your daily diet:
Whole Wheat (a good alternative is rice or rye)
Ice cream
Alcohol
Cakes, cookies, muffins
Sugar (find a natural alternative, but steer clear of ANY products containing aspartame)
Soft drinks
Take out food (old fashioned home cooked meals are the way to go)
Anything that constitutes non-food (chips etc.)
Highly processed foods
Allow yourself to have these things occasionally, but not all of the time. Nor would I suggest the entire container or bag when you do allow yourself to indulge.
Be sure to include some protein into every meal. Here is an excellent protein shake you can add to your regime:
Breakfast or Anytime Shake
1 cup mixed berries
1 banana
2 tbsp flaxseed oil (yes, we do need oil and fat in our diet!)
1 scoop concentrated whey protein* (Proteins+ is an excellent product; be sure to find one that is 100% concentrated whey protein as they do not have as many fillers in them)
1 cup rice or soy milk
Blend and enjoy!
*If you have troubles with dairy products and are unable to ingest whey protein substitute it with tofu.
Please note: If you are already ingesting whole flax seeds note flax oil holds different properties. Flax seeds help to remove slough from the intestinal tract; whereas flax oil aids in liver function. The liver has over 500 jobs in the body, so use your oil and let your liver sing!
The bottom line in weight loss is to be food wise. Read the labels before you buy anything. This may be a chore the first few times, but after awhile it will become easier and you will be in and out of the grocery store in no time.
With the addition of an exercise regime you will find pounds melt away easily.

Quick Weight Loss is Possible and Achievable for You
Obesity and excess fat are epidemics around the world today and especially evident in America where 8 out of 10 adults are obese and the number is steadily climbing. The statistics show no signs of slowing down either.
There definitely are ways to prevent further obesity. It all depends on you. Your devotion, desire and drive will determine the effectiveness and quality of your weight loss program. Whatever your efforts are, quick and healthy weight loss is a definite reality and is very achievable.
There are numerous weight loss "programs" available now that offer rapid weight loss in the forms of a supplement of sorts or through crash diets. These do not work for the long term and will not produce results that last. In fact, there is a high probability that these types of weight loss programs can cause more health problems.
Crash dieting and excessive fasting will certainly cause very rapid weight loss, but along with that new weight loss will come a slew of health issues because you are getting insufficient or, at the best, minimal nutrition in the foods that you are directed to eat and avoid.
Fasting for the first day of your new weight loss program can be beneficial but continued fasting can be detrimental and self-defeating. It will slow down your metabolism, essential in weight loss, and once you stop fasting, you will immediately can back all the weight you lost.
Weight loss programs based on weight loss pills and liquids or drinks are also ineffective. While they may cause you to lose weight rapidly, there are significantly less nutrients found in these supplements than in a healthy fresh foods diet; in addition, using these supplements does not help you make wise health choices, in particular with foods.
Diuretics in particular can cause you to lose too much water and potassium (essential mineral) while flushing away other toxins in your system; this much loss of essential elements of the body can be dangerous. Colon cleansing may sound beneficial and positive but can be tortuous and difficult, nearly self-punishing and completely unadvised without previous medical consultation. (Cleansing your body, in a whole body sense, is recommended when it comes to general toxins. The best tool in that endeavor is pure water. More on that in a future article.)
Instead of using those quick-fix ineffective methods, the best choice for someone who is overweight and looking for quick but also healthy weight loss is a healthy, sustainable and satisfying nutritional and fitness plan. This nutritional and fitness plan should be based on healthy whole foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, quality meats and water.
Highly important in these three is water; the most common liquid you should drink is water, not fruit drinks, sodas or alcoholic beverages. Your fitness plan should include both cardio and strength or weight training; make sure to push your personal limits at regular levels to increase your capacities and results.
With these two basic guidelines in place, you will see just as quick weight loss as with those foolish programs and the best part of this is that your new nutritional and fitness weight loss plan is healthy, sustainable and satisfying!

So first, Dr. Mohr's credentials...
Dr. Chris Mohr is a consultant to a number of media outlets and
corporations including the Discovery Health Channel, Clif Bar, Fit Fuel, and Labrada Nutrition. He has authored or co-authored several textbooks and has written nearly 500 articles.
Dr. Mohr has bachelors and masters degrees in Nutrition, from Penn State University and the University of Massachusetts, respectively. He received his PhD in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and is also a registered dietitian.
Through his company, Mohr Results, Dr. Mohr offers consultations, provides corporate seminars, and will soon be providing nutrition services for trainers.
Now, before we get to the interview with Dr. Mohr, I have something to admit:
Nutrition is more important than training.
There, I said it. In fact, I've admitted it all along. It doesn't
matter how good the Turbulence Training workouts are, you won't get maximum results without the right nutrition.
And that's why I've gone to Dr. Mohr to get his advanced fat loss tips.
CB: For fat loss, what kind of shake is best after weights? Do we
need high-carb, sugar shakes?
CM:
I still think this is an important meal to get some carbohydrates
in to fuel you for your next workouts, since carbohydrate intake is likely low throughout the remainder of the day.
Even during a fat loss phase, I recommend folks get at least a 1:1 ratio of carbs:protein.
CB: But what about sugar specifically? If a client is 35, 5'10", and 21% body fat, does he need sugar in his post-workout drink?
CM:
I do still think simple carbs are important during this recovery
period.
Carbs don't have to be the enemy---if the rest of your carb intake is mainly veggies, the post workout simple carbs will be a Godsend.
You'll suck that right up, you'll feel stronger, and have better
subsequent workouts. You should be training hard enough to be able to lose the fat...it's not all about the carbs.
I would go 1:1 ratio of carbs:protein...around 30:30 of a
combination of malto/glucose/sucrose or any high GI ingredients with a whey isolate and/or hydrosylate.
CB: Does post-workout nutrition change for interval training?
CM:
I believe it does, because while you're exercising at a
high-intensity, the amount of glycogen depletion and protein
degradation that's going on is lower than with a longer duration,
intense weight workout.
It is still an important time for feeding (after exercise), but I
wouldn't recommend the same high intake of carbs:protein as I would after a tough weight workout.
Like before, go with the 1:1 ratio of carbs:protein - that is, of
course, unless you were just out there doing intervals for an hour (but then you'd basically be superhuman).
CB: What are your thoughts on eating before bed?
CM:
This is a time I like a protein and fat meal, to help slow the
digestion of those nutrients during a time when it's likely you
will be breaking down some muscle tissue.
I am "ok" with some carbs, but if you do eat them, focus on veggies or something similar and don't sit down to a Thanksgiving meal and then immediately close your eyes.
CB: Everyone seems to know the general protein rule for gaining muscle (1g per pound bodyweight), but how much protein do we need when trying to lose fat?
CM:
This is suffice for losing fat as well. Maintaining this intake,
with a moderate fat intake as well, will help provide the necessary nutrients since you want to lose as much fat as possible, yet maintain as much lean body mass as possible.
You can't get around the fact that weight loss does take some
reduction in calorie intake (or very high amount of calorie
expenditure), so focus your intake on lean proteins, healthy fats,
and always think fiber, not carbs.
CB: Give us one of your "secret" advanced fat loss nutrition tips...please!
CM:
Losing fat without the addition of intervals is like riding a bike
through sand - sure it will work, but your progress won't be nearly as fast.
Replace all simple carbohydrates with their high-fiber
counterparts, and make sure you're eating at least one vegetable each and every meal.
CB: What do you think of "calorie cycling" diets - where you drop your calories for a couple of days, then bump them up, etc. Is there any research to support this approach?
CM:
To my knowledge it's all anecdotal.
Theoretically, it seems as if it may work; however, it would be
near impossible to design a well controlled study to test the
theory.
With that said, it's hard to make specific recommendations because there's nothing to base it off of.
CB: And let's finish off with your thoughts on fish oil - dosage,
quality, etc.
CM:
They kick ass---general health, 2-4 g/day. Elevated TG I would go higher, increasing in a stepwise manner, up to 8g or so (not a
blanket statement, but individualized). Always speak with MD first since it does decrease clotting time...contraindicated if on blood thinning medications.
Preliminary research with weight loss shows it's promising---2-3 studies to my knowledge. I do believe higher quality fish oils are important. Fish oil shouldn't give you fishy burps or taste fishy at all.
Two favorites are Nordic Naturals and Carlson. Fish oils are
screened very well for mercury and other contaminants, particularly ones like NN and Carlson.
CB: Thanks Chris. This is great. I look forward to adding your nutrition knowledge to my Turbulence Training workouts...I guarantee that this combination will help everyone lose fat and gain muscle.

Type one is usually diagnosed early in life, around birth to age 30. There are many theories about why and what happens in the pancreas of type 1. It is considered that a virus attack at some point. There are more cases of type 1 in the States who are cold. These people are still dependent of insulin and are usually diagnosed after age 35, but may develop earlier. With this type there are 2 things that can happen. The pancreas can be doing a lot of insulin but the body is not used properly (insulin resistance) or the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. Type 2 diabetes tend to have a certain type or oral medications, but some take insulin and some take both. There is some type 2, which can control their disease with diet and exercise for many years. Both types of diabetes can be genetic. Both types are caused by malfunction of the pancreas and are not caused by poor diet or being overweight. Very true. People will effect a cute kitten and adult cats are so often looked over. They must realize they have a kitten less than a year before he takes the appearance of an adult cat. Kitten personalities are still developing and you really will not know for awhile what personality she has. Kittens are also very energetic and often do not want to sit and cuddle as an adult cat. I commend you for adopting an older cat. Some are free because the owner is long dead or because the family is gone and could not take the pot. They were accustomed to a happy home life and then it was taken. It's sad to see such sadness in their eyes. A rescue cat would be a wonderful thing. There are so many cats and so few rescues. I think you would do an excellent job promoting the shelter cats. It's always good when they can be taken out of the cage and put a shelter in a family environment. This will makes more socialized and adoptable. It is a great thing to take on but if you have the energy and resources, it would be a wonderful thing to do. Again, I congratulate you for your care.
