How old must you be to use weight loss pills and what are the effects?

Well I'm not saying that I'm going to use them. Mainly because I don't know if they are dangerous. I also don't know how old you need to be. If I were to use them I'd probably wait till i'm 18 maybe 19, but if it's possible can I take weight loss pills now? I know it sounds lazy, but I will not lie, when it comes down to dieting and excercising, I don't do that. Yes I'm active, and yes I eat fairly healthy, but I'm not the kind of person to go on a strict diet or excersize weekly, I'm more or less the kind of person where if theres an easy way like weight loss pills then I'd do it. I just want to know if theres anything bad about this, IF I choose to do them in the future.

I never used a single weight loss pill in my life and I don't trust them. I've been using the China's diet tea i got from the asian store and that works wonders. My coworkers used it after me and they loved it too. It helps clean your system out quickly. I'm 92 lbs, ate a full IHOP meal for 3000 cals and did not gain weight.
But honestly, everything must be accompanied by exercising. Losing weight is one thing, being healthy is even more important.

I just read an article in Time magazine about why exercise won't help you lose weight?

"Cutting calories and watching what you eat is all you need to truly lose weight" is what the article states. I understand eating healthy is a vital part of weight loss (if you treat yourself to Dairy Queen after every workout you are not going to see results) but I don't know if I believe that is all it takes to lose weight, especially if you are trying to lose 30 to 50 pounds.

Basically, I got the impression that eating a small fry or a blueberry muffin once or twice a week pretty much meant you were going to gain a pound, no matter how many times you worked out weekly. I don't agree with this.

So am I wrong in the way I am thinking? Should I stop sweating all together and limit my food intake to salads (with no dressing of course), fresh fruit, and lean chicken every single day? Will one chocolate chip cookie truly send me up one pants size?
Johnny: Thank you, but any diet that tells me to limit or rid myself of anything other than junk food is suspect to me.

It's true. You can exercise all you want, but if all you eat is a ton of junk, you'll probably still gain weight, or at least won't lose it. Diet and exercise go hand in hand.

Keep exercising, and also eat healthy. Exercise will help you build muscle, therefore increasing your metabolism. Eating healthy is good, and you may lose some weight, but you will eventually plateau, and exercise will help get you over that hump.

So you need both exercise and a healthy diet.

One chocolate chip cookie won't hurt, if it's an occasional treat. If you have one 3 or 4 times a day, that's going to ruin your healthy eating. D
