What do you think about diabetes?

I do a school project on diabetes (like me), but I need some objective views about it. I made a Youtube video, so if this question has expired, you can comment here, or just a comment there. Thanks for helping! :) URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8FbqqwhvIg

Diabetes mellitus is a disease in which blood sugar (glucose) levels are abnormally high because the body does not produce enough insulin to meet your needs. urination and thirst are increased, and people lose weight when they are not searched. Diabetes damages nerves and causes problems with sensation. Diabetes damages blood vessels and increases the risk of heart attack stroke and kidney failure. Doctors diagnose diabetes by measuring levels of blood sugar. People diabetes, take a little sugar, a diet low in fat exercise, and usually take drugs. insulin, a hormone released by the pancreas, controls the amount of sugar in the blood. When people eat or drink, food is broken down into materials, including glucose simple sugar that the body needs to function. The sugar is absorbed into the bloodstream and stimulates the pancreas to produce insulin. Insulin that allows glucose to pass from the blood into cells. Once inside cells, is converted into energy that can be used immediately or stored as fat or glycogen until needed. The levels of sugar in the blood vary normally throughout the day. Arise after a meal and return to normal within a 2 hours after eating. Once the levels of blood sugar return to normal, insulin production decreases. Changes in levels of blood sugar is usually in a narrow range, from about 70 to 110 milligrams per deciliter (mg / dl) of blood. If people eat plenty of carbohydrates, the levels of increase over May. People over 65 tend to have slightly higher levels, especially after meals. If the body does not produce enough insulin to move sugar cells, high sugar levels that result in the blood and insufficient amount of sugar into the cells together produce the symptoms and complications of diabetes. Doctors often use the full name diabetes mellitus rather than diabetes alone, to distinguish this disorder from diabetes insipidus, a disease relatively rare condition that affects as many levels of blood sugar (see Pituitary Disorders: Central diabetes insipidus). Types of pre-diabetes: Pre-diabetes is a condition in which blood sugar too high to be considered normal but not high enough to be labeled as diabetes. People have prediabetes if your fasting glucose levels between 101 mg / dl and 126 mg / dL or if the level of blood glucose 2 hours after a tolerance test glucose of 140 mg / dl and 200 mg / dL. Identifying people with prediabetes is important because the condition carries an increased future risk of diabetes and heart disease. Weight decreased body of 5 to 10% through diet and exercise can significantly reduce the risk of future diabetes. Type 1: Type 1 diabetes (formerly known as insulin-dependent diabetes or juvenile diabetes), more than 90% of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas are permanently destroyed. The pancreas, therefore, makes little or no insulin. Only about 10% of all people with diabetes 1 type of disease. Most people with type 1 diabetes develop the disease before the 30. Scientists believe that an environmental factor, perhaps a viral infection or a nutritional factor in childhood or early adulthood, the immune system to destroy the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. A genetic predisposition may make some people more susceptible to environmental factors. Type 2 Diabetes Type 2 (formerly called noninsulin-dependent diabetes or adult onset diabetes), the pancreas still produces insulin, sometimes even higher than normal levels. Without however, the body develops resistance to the effects of insulin, so there is not enough insulin to meet the needs of the organization. Type 2 diabetes once was uncommon in children and adolescents, but has recently become more frequent. However, generally begins in people 30 and becomes increasingly frequent with age. About 15% of people over age 70 have type 2 diabetes. People of certain ethnic and racial backgrounds are at greater risk of developing Type 2 diabetes: blacks, Indians, and Hispanics in the United States are two to three times more likely. Type 2 diabetes also tend to run in families. The Obesity is the greatest risk factor for developing type 2 diabetes, and 80 to 90% of people with this disorder are overweight or obese. Because obesity causes insulin resistance, obese people need very large amounts of insulin to maintain normal levels of blood sugar. Some diseases and medications can affect how the body uses insulin and can lead to type 2 diabetes. High levels of corticosteroids (Cushing's disease or take corticosteroid drugs) and pregnancy (gestational diabetes see High-Risk Pregnancy: Gestational diabetes) are the most common causes of altered insulin use. Diabetes can also occur in people with excess production growth hormone (acromegaly) and in those which secrete the hormone of some tumors.
