Why does my child have a ketone breath?

My son is 9 months is very healthy, good weight, good height, eating well does not like juice for a minimum of water. He urinates well happy and sleeps well. When he was born about a week after the ketone breath for about 3 days and is now teathing and little cold and his breath has the smell of new since yesterday. I do not think that their diabetes. Because other wise you may urinate more or lose weight. Any suggestions out there? Lol I always do my pits with my husband asked the same question. Must be because I'm dyslexic. I'm not sure.
