Children with above average blood glucose?

I took my 3 year old son to the Dominican Republic. for a medical examination. He tested his blood sugar was 144. We went to the Dominican Republic. The next morning a fasting blood glucose and that was 104. These figures are not enough high to qualify for diabetes, but are higher than normal. He has no symptoms of diabetes (thirst, hunger, frequent urination, weight loss, irritability, fatigue ... nothing). Question: Is pre-diabetes to type 2 diabetes? Can someone just higher than normal blood sugar? Is this a precursor diabetes?

There are many reason for a level of blood sugar a bit high. The normal range varies from person to person. Ask doctors to test again in a month or two. If good, then that's fine. Some people have a normal reading high to have a normal reading. Do not worry too much.
