diabetes ii symptoms

Common diabetic symptoms, or something worse?

My father is diabetic. I think only Type II, diet based. He takes pills to regulate her blood sugar, but it is said that there was no change in this regard. It is home alone for the moment, and it was extremely tired and light headed for the past day. The tester did not give readings, I'm going to buy (not new expired) bands soon test it. It also gives eye surgery he had in a week. I understand the best thing would be see a doctor. However, this is not an option just yet unless it is an extreme emergency. My question is, is extremely low, and light headed a common symptom of diabetes, or could it be something worse? If yes, thank you what? I need your help so much, Niki

Is low and light are both symptoms of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, but they can also be symptoms of health problems many others, some serious and others not. Only a doctor can tell you for sure. A couple of things that concern me: - surgery or disease can affect the levels of sugar in the blood - either lower or raise them - it is important to know in advance and adjusting the diet and exercise accordingly. To do this, you should be testing. - Your doc will want to know what the levels were tests in, but they can make an immediate test in A1C and a year to see what it's like for the last three months. - This is not correct for a diabetic running out of test strips have expired test strips, having a machine that does not work, etc. You need these readings to avoid health problems very serious, up to blindness, amputation, coma and death, among other things. There are several programs out there that can help with the cost of this referral (doc and / or Internet search will give you this info.), and establishment of test strips online to renew each month (a must requirement for this doc) reminds you to get them before they run out. - If the pills do not work to reduce his blood sugar, he needs to know why immediately. The doc may give different, and adjust your diet and exercise. If the doc is only giving pills and it does not follow anything as far as diet and exercise, it needs a new document and a new lifestyle that is compatible with having a long and happy life even with diabetes. It would be best to take it in the doc - there are low cost options, too, as someone else has suggested. Except that, can you get the NOW test strips, test him and stay with him for a while or at least drop in on him? Is there a neighbor or someone else can check it often? To see what could happen if left alone, and his blood sugar is very high, try the American Diabetes Org. site. I really hope this is not serious. But there is no way to tell without sugar levels in the blood and / or see a doc. Good luck! (:
