How do people get diabetes?

I'm in love with this guy who has type 1 diabetes. No one else has diabetes. He was always thirsty, lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks (although it only weighed 115 pounds to start) and always had a bad attitude and simply was not. This was the doctor to see that your sugar blood was 700! Live with it much better now and using a omnipod. But I'm still confused as to how he got diabetes! HELP !?!?!?!?!?

Type 1 diabetes is when the pancreas produces no insulin to keep up with the needs of the organization. It is also the school of thought that is some type of autoimmune disease where the body attacks insulin-producing cells of the pancreas.
