Advice about foot problems in diabetes?

70 years My father has diabetes and is a nightmare about care of itself. He felt he had, but did nothing about it until he fell into a coma last year diabetes. He has his feet regularly and taking medication, but still eats chocolate and does not follow a proper diet. My mother said that complain about the red toes (I guess is the lack of movement) and not go to the doctor. Does this than the beginning of a more serious problem and he could lose toes / feet? I need the shock by going to the doctors. Expert Advice would be great, or people with experience. Thank you very much.

Not enough information in your question to make value judgments, but is almost certainly a problem. Diabetics of age with poorly controlled may need surgery if they do not take care of your feet. You could try talking to your doctor's office and to organize the nurse district to call and take a look the situation. At day's end, of course you can not force you to do something.
