Does anyone have advice or stories about feline diabetes?

My 13 yr. old cat just diagnosed with feline diabetes. I am a bit overwhelmed by the responsibilities and costs. , If anyone has any of their own stories they could share or advice that could really help. Thank you!

This is a decision you make ultimately yourself. I had a cat for his childhood, a short-haired tabby who has been diagnosed with diabetes around the same age. We gave him injections of insulin for about 2 years, and he eventually died. We loved, and all his brothers and sisters (9 cats in the house + Shepard), and thought it was worth an additional family member. Your cat will probably live another 2-3 years, average life span is about 15. However up to you. Sorry could not be more helpful.
