What are the signs of diabetes for a teenage daughter?

I'm skinny and have perfectly normal weight. But I've been eating a lot lately and I also I have a family history of diabetes (Mom and Dad). My friend who is diabetic, said he had never reached its period and thats how learned that he had type 1 diabetes. And my time is 2 weeks late and I took a few pounds lately .. please help?

Weight gain or loss weight can be symptoms of diabetes such as increased thirst, irritability, increase or decrease in appetite, fatigue, or a yeast infection. I do not remember my sister's doctor mentioned about the missed period. Irregular periods and weight gain could be signs of polycystic ovary syndrome, SOP, which is also related to insulin.
