Actually, now there is a striking relationship between some cases of epilepsy and Type 1 diabetes, including cases that do not respond to typical treatments. Research has linked the two diseases, celiac disease, which is also a Autoimmune disease more common in type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes and celiac disease are believed to be caused by the small "leakage" hypothesis. Approximately 3-10% of type 1 diabetes also have celiac disease and response to gluten. Some studies have estimated at 30%, although most are asymptomatic. Gluten can cause seizures in some people. Some celiac disease show no signs of gastrointestinal and neurological symptoms. The scientists are now finding a link between celiac disease / gluten and some cases of epilepsy. If you like your daughter tested for celiac disease. It is necessary to detect anti-gliadin antibodies TTG and EMA. Blood tests are more accurate. This can save your life, and no medicine. Treatment is a gluten-free diet for life.
