diabetes causes obesity

Is it true that the main cause of diabetes is eating too much sugar?
I know it can be hereditary and is more common for people who are obese have a higher risk of it, but if you eat too much sugar, which is at risk for it too? Just curious!
Absolutely no. Sugar does not cause diabetes. I can not believe how many people have answered this incorrectly. They clearly have no idea. Even if I'm overweight, I never ate a lot of sugar. In fact, I was not much sugar at all. The only thing I used to have with sugar was the soda and I never had much of that. I love water. However, it is customary to eat a good meal. I was literally skipping breakfast and lunch, then eat a big dinner. In doing so, I had ups and downs. It is important to maintain a balanced diet with small meals and snacks. Preggo and then I developed gestational diabetes. This tends to be common and will disappear after having a baby. However, since it is a long family history of diabetes in my family, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, some years later. Thus that, once again, no, no diabetes, not only on sugar. Once you have diabetes, sugar, starch or all carbohydrates should be monitored closely, however.
