Gestational diabetes and birth?

I am of gestational diabetes. I'm going to avoid stress tests 2 times a week. I also see my doctor week. I see her on Friday and be talking with him this time but wanted to know how this happened to others. Now .... the question is: How long have you carry your baby? It was bigger than normal? And you or the child have long-term effects of diabetes? Your baby is healthy? Thanks for any help you can take. I'll talk to my doctor about this, but I just want a general idea of Friday. Thank you! Having tried the pills that I decided to be very diligent and monitoring diet (my numbers are too low). He had borderline diabetes and do not want this baby! lol ... I suppose time, right? : D

I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy. I went to test 2 times a week also. I took my son to term. He was 9 pounds 5 ounces when he was born. He had no adverse effects durable. However, I have a caesarean section because it was so big. when I delivered, I had no signs of diabetes at all. He is now in grade 1 and they are doing well.
