Color Palette Shadow Makeup
I Have A Question About Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Makeup?
I'm wondering which to get, Coastal Scents, Original 88 Piece Makeup Palette, or Ultra Shimmer 88 Eye Shadow Palette.
Is there a huge difference between them, or what?
Some people say to get the Ultra shimmer first if you are a beginner, because its easier to blend, and work with.
But I'm looking for bright colors, that are not so shimmery, just bright, and that stand out.
I'd rather use the Original 88 Piece Makeup Palette, because It's not so shimmery, and sparkly, but some people say the shimmer one is easier for beginners, and better for blending well, and stuff, and I do need one that is easy to work with, and blend together, etc.
What do you people think? Any opinions?
I think the both formulas of shadow are exactly the same, there's just more glitter in the shimmer palette... I don't see how the addition of glitter would make the shadows easier to blend or whatever you were told.
Both palettes work fine for all levels of expertise, and I think they're excellent palettes to grow with.
From what I understand, the original 88 palette is about a 50/50 mix of shimmery colors and matte colors, so if you go with that one, you'd get the best of both worlds. If it's the one that you want, go for the Original 88. It's going to be just as easy to blend and work with as the ultra shimmer palette.
I own a couple Coastal Scents palettes, and from my experience, I can offer you a couple additional tips:
- The shadows are pretty decent quality, but you'll DEFINITELY want to use an eye primer with them. I know Coastal Scents sells a primer, or you can try something like Urban Decay Primer Potion ($17 at Sephora/Ulta) or L'Oreal De-Crease ($8 at drugstores). Without a primer, the color will wear off in a matter of hours.
- Also, with these shadows you really have to be careful not to overblend them. I bought the neutral palette and in the beginning I noticed that all the colors would just sort of blob together if I blended them too much, so you'll have to practice a bit to find that fine line between not blended at all, and color-blob overblended.
