What kind of doctor will help you assess problems bloodsugar more?

My kids seem to have problems with blood sugar (such as hypoglycemia), but urine tests show no diabetes. The pediatrician has only tested the urine do not know what to ask or what could go to a specialist examination more detailed discussion of its symptoms. A child takes medication for seizures and medication is an insulin mimic. The other child also seems to have symptoms which appear to relate to questions on blood sugar, but no seizures. There is a strong family history of diabetes. Is there a "metabolism" specialist could find? Thank you from all directions.
