Vegetables and weight loss?
If my diet consists of 75% raw vegetables, will I lose weight faster than average?
Just to clear this up for the people who's answers were so rude....I DO eat a balanced diet, I DO exercise daily, I am NOT consuming ANY amount of snack cakes, candy bars, refined sugar, potato chips, or other junk foods. I AM a strict vegan so I'm not eating ANY animal products whatsoever.
We could all stand to increase the amount of vegetables we eat. But if your diet consists of 75% raw vegetables, that leaves a small 25% to somehow split up between protein (essential amino acids), hight quality fats, and complex carbohydrates. It's just not enough.
I'd say with your plan, you'll be tired and sick most of the time. You won't feel good. You need to balance it out, even if you're a vegetarian, you need some sources of protein like peanut butter, tofu, etc. You need complex carbohydrates for energy, like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, etc.
Here's a better plan that will give you energy and optimal health while you lose weight. The second link is a site that can be used as a great tool for tracking your food intake. The 3rd link will show you how many calories are in food. In fact, it'll list all the nutrients found in food. The last one does pretty much the same thing but also shows calories for fast foods.
